An
online seminar titled “Water and Cancer: The Relationship” was conducted on
13th March 2026 by the Amity Institute of Biotechnology in collaboration with
the Amity Centre for Water Studies and Research, Amity University Rajasthan,
Jaipur. The seminar highlighted the crucial role of water quality,
contamination, and its potential link to cancer, emphasizing the need for safe
water practices and environmental awareness.
The
session was attended by Dr. Palukurty Mary Anupama along with students of St.
Joseph’s College for Women (A). The seminar provided valuable insights into
carcinogenic pollutants in water, preventive strategies, and the importance of
sustainable water management. Such programs are significant in creating
awareness among students about public health and environmental safety.
The
event was well-organized by the coordinators and experts, offering an
informative and engaging learning experience. It also encouraged students to
explore interdisciplinary connections between biotechnology, environmental
science, and human health.
