On
26th June 2026, a meaningful literary and inspirational event titled “The
Day She Remembered Herself”, authored by Dr. Leonora R. Mohan, was
organized by Y’s Men Club of Nirmal Hruday in collaboration with Swanthana
Charitable Trust at Visakha Public Library, Seetampeta, Visakhapatnam. The
program was held from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM and witnessed the presence of
distinguished guests, authors, social workers, and students.
The
event highlighted the significance of women’s empowerment, self-discovery, and
resilience, themes deeply reflected in Dr. Leonora’s book. The gathering was
graced by eminent personalities including Dr. Shankhabrata Bagchi, IPS,
Commissioner of Police and Additional District Magistrate, Visakhapatnam City,
and Smt. Suvasree Bagchi, Creative Head and Director of Kedia Creations, as
Chief Guests. The Guest of Honour for the occasion were YW Dr. Besty Williams,
Regional Director, and YM Rev. Devaprasad Ithi, District Governor, Y’s Men
International District V, Central India Region.
A
special mention goes to the participation of the Rangers Team from St. Joseph’s
College for Women (A), led by Ranger Leader Dr. Palukurty Mary Anupama, along
with four dedicated Rangers. Their active involvement added discipline,
dignity, and warmth to the occasion. The Rangers had the honour of welcoming
the Chief Guests with respect and hospitality, reflecting their commitment to
service and leadership.
During
the formal proceedings, Ranger Leader Dr. Palukurty Mary Anupama introduced the
Chief Guest, Smt. Suvasree Bagchi, to the gathering. Her introduction
highlighted the achievements and contributions of Mrs. Bagchi in the fields of
acting, creative arts, and media education. Following this, Dr. Anupama
felicitated Mrs. Suvasree Bagchi as a token of appreciation and respect, making
it a proud and memorable moment for the Rangers team.
The
event also included an author talk and book-signing session by Dr. Leonora R.
Mohan, where she shared the inspiration behind her book and encouraged the
audience, especially women and youth, to embrace self-worth and inner strength.
The interactive session was engaging and thought-provoking.
Overall,
the program was a successful and enriching experience for the Rangers of St.
Joseph’s College for Women (A). It provided them with an opportunity to
participate in a socially significant event, interact with notable
personalities, and strengthen their values of service, leadership, and
community engagement.
