Jessy participated in a webinar organized by State NSS unit and gave report of her activities

Good morning to everyone present here

I am Angline, studying first year BA EPO at St. Joseph’s College for women, Visakhapatnam.

I represent Andhra University NSS cell.

So how should a NSS react in such situations?

They should be able to spread awareness and let people realize that it is going to be ok and also also while sprading awareness, they should be able to help people in need through distribution of necessatieslike masks and sanitizers or provision of foodto the needy.

There are many ways to help through NSS if you are willing to put in the Heart and effort to DO IT.

Coming to my activities during lock down

Initially I was feeling like I am really locked down, but the very next moment I realized that  there are many who are unaware of Corona virus and precautions to be taken.

I educated my apartment children and neighbors as to how it  spreads,  through social media like whatsapp messages and phone calls. As many were taking it for granted.

I continued to spread awareness with the Janatha curfew on March 22nd. I included my apartment people and the others around us. We did the claps , NSS style to applaud the services of Doctors, police and all other public servants.

Then along with a  bharatanatyam choreography, I did a dance to pay respect to the current real heroes of our country, the doctors, police, the social workers and the civil servants.

The next was a role play kind of dance video where I tried to show how the people who are coming from other countries or states should be responsible and report themselves to be checked and how each and every one of us should be responsible and stay home to keep ourselves, the one's we love and everyone around us safe

Then I did a video on the diya jalao movement on April 5th, 9 PM, where the message was to stay strong and stay United as one by social distancing and to tell people that right now we have to stay hopeful that this will be over soon and that we will be okay . The dia here is representative of the small light of hope needed in our hearts.

Then some of us in the apartment take turns to set out food for the street dogs and cats . Separate bowls were made out of cement for water .

Recently our area became red zone and as we are noticing people are going into depression. I am preparing a video on “ How to overcome stress and anxiety during lockdown”.

I thank Dr Bhagya lakshmi mam,  for giving me this opportunity to be a part of NSS review meeting of Andhra Pradesh.

Thank you
