On Account of National Youth day, Visakhapatnam Rangers from St. Joseph's college led by Dr P. Mary Anupama RL did Beach cleaning program along with Asst. State Organizing Commissioner, AHEMAD SHARIFF at RK Beach Visakhapatnam on 12.01.2025.

Only Rangers from Visakhapatnam have attended the beach cleanup program and did service

Visit to village

  Today , few rangers from St. Joseph's College for Women visited village near Govindapuram

We were invited by Miss Gopika a student from the college . Today is World Rice day and we had the opportunity to see the process ofharvesting and interact with farmers

we educated people on the need to educate girl child and very few girls of the village studied beyond intermediate. and we also did sanitation awareness

we reached farmers in the village and have seen the farming. we could tell them on organic farming.

one farmer was using Solar panels. we appreciated them. 

one farmer was doing alternate cropping. we asked them reasons for that and we appreciated the knowledge he has on the need to shift to organic farming. 

AIDS day talk organized for RANGERS

 Dr Rosina George Bandi, Assistant Professor, Dept of Zoology, SJCW gave guest lecture on AIDS

What is HIV/AIDS?

1. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus): A virus that attacks the body's immune system.

2. AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome): The most advanced stage of HIV infection.

How is HIV transmitted?

1. Unprotected sex: Vaginal, anal, or oral sex with an infected person.

2. Sharing needles: Using contaminated needles or syringes.

3. Mother-to-child transmission: From an infected mother to her child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding.

How is HIV NOT transmitted?

1. Casual contact: Hugging, shaking hands, or sharing food/drinks.

2. Mosquito bites: HIV is not spread through insect bites.

Prevention is key!

1. Use protection: Condoms can reduce the risk of transmission.

2. Get tested: Know your status and get tested regularly.

3. Practice safe sex: Communicate with your partner and prioritize your health.

Let's break the stigma!

1. HIV is not a moral issue: It's a medical condition.

2. People with HIV deserve respect: Treat others with kindness and understanding.
