World rangers day is
observed on 31st July 2023 to pay tributes to the forest rangers who sacrifice
their lives safe guarding the forest and the biodiversity.
Rangers do camping in
these forests and they take the oath to conserve the forests and contribute to
safe guarding nature
The ranger aspirants have
come up with the theme camping in forests and made the various items used in
camping in forests by rangers.
The st. Josephs college
for women(a) rangers team has created exhibits that include- tent, cloth
hanger, shoe rack, multipurpose stands etc.
24 students of the 4
patrols did the presentations.
The ranger leader Dr P.
Mary Anupama has organized this as a competition in which rangers had to use
pieces of wood from trees and cotton thread in their model making. Which is
judged by Dr K. Manikya Kumari and Dr P. Padma Sundari from botany department
judged the ecofriendly exhibits and appreciated the participants.
The college principal Dr
Sister Shyji, Sister. Hema, Dr Sudha, Dr Jayalakshmi, Dr Mousami graced the
occasion and encouraged the students.
The next day sister Principal sister called all the
students and appreciated them. She spared more time in knowing how they made
and the way they knots are made. She asked many questions about how they made
the bed, shoe racks, towers, tent etc. This visit on 1st August 2023
was very special to the students.
